GriefShare
GriefShare is a Christ-centered, 13-week seminar and support group program designed to help individuals navigate the intense pain of losing a loved one. Hosted by BMBC, the program provides a warm environment where participants who have experienced the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend can find comfort and practical tools for healing. Each weekly session typically includes a small meal, a video featuring advice from Christian counselors and real-life testimonials, followed by small-group discussion, personal workbook exercises aimed at guiding people on their journey “from mourning to joy” with the ultimate hope rooted in biblical principles.
Biblical Counseling
Pastoral care is a core function of the pastoral ministry, where the pastor acts as a shepherd to the congregation. This process involves compassionately listening to an individual’s struggles, which can range from minor life adjustments and grief to relational conflicts and spiritual doubts. The goal is to provide spiritual guidance and practical counsel by applying the authority and wisdom of the Bible directly to the counselee’s situation. Unlike licensed clinical therapy, basic biblical counseling focuses on illuminating a person’s experience within the framework of God’s design and redemptive purposes, encouraging spiritual growth, repentance where necessary, and a renewed focus on Christ. While our pastors can offer profound support, comfort, and direction, they are typically quick to recognize the limits of this role and will refer complex psychological or severe mental health crises to licensed Christian professionals.
The ABC’s of Salvation:
A
Admit that you are a sinner and that you are separated from God.
Romans 3:23: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
B
Believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son, that He died on the cross for your sins, and that He rose from the dead.
John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
C
Confess (or commit) your faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and turn from your sin (repent).
Romans 10:9: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
How to share your faith:
Some Christian ministries use a different set of ABC’s that focus on the lifestyle of an evangelist, often used as a long-term strategy for building relationships:
A
Associate: Associate with non-Christians. Intentionally build friendships with people who don’t yet share your faith.
B
Befriend: Befriend them. Show genuine care, interest, and love. Live out your faith authentically so they see its positive effect on your life.
C
Connect/Communicate: Connect them to the Gospel (the “good news”). Be ready to naturally share what God has done for you (your testimony) and the hope you have in Christ when the opportunity arises.
The core message is that sharing your faith is often a process of living a Christ-like life in front of others and being prepared to clearly explain the Gospel message (the first ABCs) when they ask about the hope you have.
